Need to Double Up Investment Value

I already cancel my plan to purchase an additional life insurance plan, even thought the quotation I get for life insurance rate is low. I am interested to invest the money into unit trust or any other investment now. I am not sure would this be a good idea to invest my money or not. However, I think I already have enough insurance plans; I need other investment to double up my money and not only give my family protection.
