Insurance or Share?

I have no idea should I invest money into insurance or unit trust now. I have a small amount available after one of my Insurance mature. I am planning continue to invest that amount as I do not want to spend it! I just having problem to save extra money, always spend without notice where the money gone! Hai…A friend introduced US Share to me while I am waiting for insurance quote from an agent. US Share investment seems profitable but I am quite worry about the risk. I still haven’t made up my mind which investment to go yet. Let me consider for more few days.
